Led by three partners who are long term veterans at Alibaba Group, NextGen Partners has a team of investment and support professionals who bring a wealth of experience from global private equity funds, leading family offices and financial institutions.

Cindy Chow

Partner

Cindy manages the AEF team and serves on the investment committee for the AEF Hong Kong and GBA Funds, contributing to investment and exit decisions. She also provides management consulting and strategic guidance to portfolio companies, helping them benefit from Alibaba’s ecosystem and network. Previously, she was Senior Director of International Finance at Alibaba Group. She participated in strategic acquisition transactions involving companies listed in Hong Kong (HKEX: 1060) and Singapore (SGX: S08), as well as venture investments across the United States, India and China, including 23andMe, Lyft, Tango, Paytm and Koubei. Cindy is a Board Member of CUHK Innovation Limited and a Steering Committee Member of InnoHK. She previously served as Chairperson of the Cyberport Investor Network and as a Member of the Hong Kong Government’s Committee on Innovation, Technology and Re-industrialisation.

Kenny Ho

Partner

Kenny joined Alibaba Group in 2010 and was involved in numerous major corporate finance and M&A transactions, including the US$7.6 billion repurchase of shares from Yahoo in 2012 and Alibaba’s US$25 billion IPO on the New York Stock Exchange in 2014. He served as Chief of Staff to Alibaba Group Chairman Mr. Joe Tsai and assisted in strategic investment matters and special projects. As Head of Alibaba’s International Strategic Investment Team, Kenny led the sourcing and execution of strategic investments, helping Alibaba build the foundation for its globalization efforts. Kenny also exited a number of investments and returned over US$600 million to Alibaba Group. Prior to joining Alibaba, Kenny worked in the investment banking industry for a number of years.

Teddy Lui

Partner

Teddy Lui is the Chief Commercial Officer of the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund (AEF), leading deal sourcing and investment advisory for the AEF Hong Kong and GBA Funds. He also drives post-investment management for high-growth portfolio companies, including Shopline, Sandbox VR, OneDegree (AIFT), Fano and Qupital. Concurrently, Teddy serves as Chief Executive Officer of HKAI Lab, where he spearheads acceleration programs at HKSTP and HSITP. In this role, he oversees more than 40 pioneering startups commercializing AI technologies, including viAct, RaSpect, Cloudbreakr and PanopticAI. Teddy joined Alibaba Group in 2009, previously serving as General Manager of Alipay and Taobao for Hong Kong and Macau and leading APAC business development for Alibaba.com. He also serves as a Member of the Advisory Panel of the PolyU Entrepreneurship Investment Fund (EIF).
